The Math Lab is designed to teach basic algebra and provide a resource for anyone who needs a basic understanding of algebra concepts and operations.

Learning algebra can be a fit daunting if you don't have the right tools. It can be even more of a challenge if you have it in your head that algebra is hard to learn. So the first lesson you will learn here is to remove that thought completely from your mind!
 

Learning algebra is a bit like building a pyramid: Every new skill or function is built upon another. So in the Math Lab, you will learn algebra from its most basic level and build from there. The instruction here is presented in a logical order, and all concepts are presented in clear, easy-to-understand language.

​Why do I need to know algebra?

​You may not realize it, but algebra is something we use nearly every day! Algebra is a powerful tool that is used in science, engineering, economics, finance, architecture, and many other every day tasks.

Algebra helps you break down complicated problems into simple ones. Let's say you you have to cut down a tree standing next to your house. When you cut the tree down, will it hit your house? Algebra will tell you!

Or let's say you are at the grocery store and comparing prices of different packages of the same product. Which one is the best deal - one of the big one or two of the smaller ones? Algebra has the answer!
